Today, Ms. Scott, a local history teacher from Oscar Smith High School was treated to a day of pampering. And why, simply because one of her students thought she deserved it.

Vanessa, a 10th grader, was searching on the web for information about teachers that make an impact. She came upon MakeoverMyHero.com. After reading up about how we search for local heroes in everyday communities, she submitted her teacher, Ms. Scott. Vanessa felt that Ms. Scott meant alot, always taking the time after class, encouraging her students, listening to their problems, caring about them and so on. So we got four local business to donate what they do to make a glamorous day.

We started out with a session of yoga at Chesapeake Hot Yoga. Here is a picture of Arianna, the owner, doing "Warior One Pose". She gave Wendy a taste of what is called Bikram Yoga. One may think Hot Yoga is not strenuous, well this is not the case here. Wendy had her first class ever and she did great! We think it is very inportant to start the day right and yoga is definitely a way of doing so. It really sets the tone for the rest of the day. A great stress reliever.

Next we went to Natural Elements and Spa. This included a Pedicure, Massage, Hair Color, Highlights and Makeup. Finally Wendy got the pampering that she deserved... They really took the time to make her feel luxorious. After a day of this anyone would feel good as new. Great job ladies!!!

Bagel Barrell, Doylestown, PA While Wendy got her pedicure we set her up with some chocolate and cheese and crackers. These are the things she can not live without. Lunch was donated by Surf Rider.

After the day of relaxation we treated Wendy and a friend to a Norfolk Tides game. She loves a good baseball game.

At the game they announced Wendy's name to honor her and all of the hard work she does day in and day out. This is the least we could do for her.

And to wrap up our day that evening Vanessa and some of her students were there to surprise her. The icing on the cake was at the end of the game, when the firework display began. What a perfect way to end a perfect day.

Thanks to Hot Yoga, Natural Elements Day Spa, Surf Rider and The Norfolk Tides, we were able to give Wendy a day she will never forget!
