Local businesses say it’s time to give back and to recognize the achievements of the “unsung heroes”; those who always lend a helping hand to others with no other expectation than making their community a better place for all.

Some local business owners have formed a strategic alliance to recognize individuals who have freely given of themselves, their time and their talent to better their communities, and “Make Over My Hero” was born!
“Make Over My Hero” was created by Claire Koutsouros of Hair by Claire and Mark Williams of Blue Lab Creations as a way to recognize these courageous individuals and reward him or her to a luxurious day of pampering tailored especially for them. “Mark and I are committed to giving back to those who have inspired, challenged and made a difference in people’s lives without ever thinking of themselves”, said Claire. After a morning session of yoga and relaxation, the Hero will enjoy a delicious breakfast and a day at the salon for a makeover while enjoying lunch. The final special touch is a romantic dinner for two. Participating businesses include Cross Culture Indian Cuisine, Domani Star, East Coast Salon Services, Amber Quinn’s Home Yoga, Bagel Barrel, Lillies of the Field, and Pennsylvania Soup and Seafood.
Submit the name of a Hero for consideration, visit makeovermyhero.com and go to the tab “Submit Your Hero” and complete the form. Selection of the individual will be made by Claire Koutsouros and Mark Williams based on content.
Don Parzanese, a Marine, whose information was submitted by his wife, is the next Hero. Don joined the Marines in 1989, served for eight years and was deployed to Iraq on February 5, 2008. He joined the ARMY National Guard stationed in Sellersville, PA. and is now a Sergeant. Don and Kathleen reside in Doylestown, PA with their two daughters, Paige 10 months and Jackie 11 years old.
